A new chapter begins: Tebogo Makamo appointed CEO of YesPlay

Tebogo Makamo has officially been appointed as our new Chief Executive Officer, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter as we continue to grow and strengthen our position in South Africa's betting industry.

Tebogo is a well-respected leader in the gaming and betting industry, bringing more than 30 years of experience across gaming technology, regulatory compliance, operations, business development and executive leadership. His appointment reflects YesPlay's ongoing commitment to innovation, delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sustainable growth.

While this may be a new role, Tebogo is certainly no stranger to the YesPlay business.

As Chief Executive Officer of CDP Gaming Technologies, the platform provider that has powered YesPlay's betting technology for several years, he has worked closely with our team and played an important role in developing and evolving the technology ecosystem and customer offering that our players enjoy today.

That long-standing relationship gives him a deep understanding of our business, our customers and our ambitions for the future, making him uniquely positioned to lead YesPlay into its next phase of growth.

Tebogo's career in the gaming industry began in 1995. Since then, he has held senior leadership positions with some of the sector's most influential organisations, including Route Monitoring, BMM Testlabs, the Gauteng Gambling Board, the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), and the Mpumalanga Gambling Board.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to advancing gaming technology and regulatory standards both locally and internationally, earning a reputation for combining regulatory insight, technical expertise and commercial leadership.

For Tebogo, joining YesPlay is an opportunity to build on an already strong foundation.
