YesPlay’s Team are 75% Women. And no, that’s not a typo.

What happens when a tech-heavy, betting-focused company quietly builds one of the most women-led teams in the industry? You get YesPlay.

Let’s be honest. When people picture the world of online betting, “female-led” probably isn’t the first phrase that springs to mind.

Fast-paced? Sure. Techy? Definitely. Male-dominated? Unfortunately, this is still a common assumption.

But at YesPlay, things look a little different. Actually, a lot different. Over 75% of our team is made up of women and that includes roles you might not expect.

No, this isn’t a PR stunt. And no, we’re not assembling a Spiced Girls tribute band (although... tempting). This is simply the result of building a team based on skill, trust, and shared values – not outdated industry expectations.

In the betting and gaming world, the myth goes something like this: the “serious” work, coding platforms, managing money, ensuring compliance, must be led by men in hoodies who drink a lot of coffee.

We love a hoodie moment, but at YesPlay, our reality is different. Women here are:

  • Analyzing SEO strategies
  • Running finance ops and audits
  • Navigating risk and compliance like pros
  • Driving customer strategies
  • And, yes, writing the code too

From operations to product, marketing to customer support, the expertise across our team is deep, diverse, and refreshingly balanced. It turns out, when you hire for capability and let people lead in ways that suit them, good things happen.

We didn’t set out to build a majority-female team. There were no posters saying “Ladies Wanted” in the kitchen. What we did do was create a work culture where people, of all backgrounds, felt supported, respected, and trusted to do what they do best.

Over time, that’s attracted a lot of women who may have looked at the betting industry from afar and thought, “Not for me.” And then realised... maybe it is.

We offer structure and flexibility. We’ve built teams around capability, not corporate theatre. And we’re okay with challenging the old-school image of what a gaming company should look like.

What difference does it make? A big one.

Diversity in teams, whether gender, age, experience or thinking styles, creates better ideas. It keeps you honest. It stops you from falling into the trap of designing for yourself instead of your customer. For a company like ours that operates in a tightly regulated, fast-evolving market, having a wide range of perspectives makes us more thoughtful, more resilient, and a lot more effective.

We’re not here to declare ourselves the poster company for equality. There’s always more to learn, more to do, and more space to improve. But we’re pretty proud of the team we’ve built and the people we continue to attract. If we’re helping to reshape what leadership looks like in gaming, even in a small way, that’s a win.

If you’re someone who never saw yourself working in this space, maybe it’s time to reconsider. We’d love to meet you.
